A good night’s sleep is essential for good health, but can often feel out of reach. If left up to Philips, though, being well-rested won’t be far-fetched. Philips had a handful of sleep solutions on display at CES this year, with one in particular that is positioned to be a game-changer for people with active lifestyles.

SmartSleep, a headband-style device, is geared toward people who do not currently get enough sleep. The key here, though, is that the lack of sleep is due to lifestyle, not health conditions like sleep apnea (for which they also make a device called DreamStation Go). The headband pairs with an app called SleepMapper to better track sleep patterns.

While tracking is something most fitness wearables already do, SleepMapper works with SmartSleep to actually react to the sleep patterns to optimize sleep time during the “slow wave sleep“– the third phase of non-REM sleep — using audible cues.
