Working to close the gender gap in the engineering industry means starting early, sparking an interest in STEM among young women.
One of the easiest ways to get kids interested in and acquainted with engineering is to identify role models. Young men have no shortage of role models in engineering; we’re taught early on about Thomas Edison, and it’s nearly impossible to peruse present-day news without coming across a story about Elon Musk tinkering over at Tesla – but what about women in engineering?
