IEEE develops standards that nurture and advance global technologies and innovations. IEEE members are developing a technology that can help give people all over the world access to modern energy.
Low Voltage Direct Current (LVDC) can accelerate the use of renewable efficient energy in areas of the world where the infrastructure does not allow for reliable power systems. The IEEE Standards Association has a project under development, IEEE P2030.10™ Standard for DC Microgrids for Rural and Remote Electricity Access Applications, that will help to bring electricity to these areas.
