Technology for Humanity

Advancing technology for the benefit of humanity is IEEE’s purpose.

Because new ideas can improve lives.

Every day, IEEE members and volunteers around the world dedicate their time and skills to transform ideas into real-world impact. They run community projects, build educational programs, deploy technology and much more.

How does IEEE use technology to improve lives around the world?

As a public charity, IEEE supports humanitarian projects that apply technology to solve real-world problems. IEEE members and volunteers help deliver solutions such as renewable energy systems, communication networks, data tools and AI-based technologies. These projects improve access to healthcare, education, reliable power, disaster response and environmental sustainability in places where technology can make the greatest difference.

Impact in Action

IEEE Humanitarian Technologies is a consortium of programs and initiatives established with the goal of applying technology to solve the world’s most pressing problems. These initiatives help millions of people every year.
