Robot Rover

The Rover is a robot inspired Rovers Opportunity and Spirit but for "missions" more land.

The Purpose

Thus, to create autonomous locomotion, the following aspects were included: six wheels, including four powered and controlled independently, enabling a wide range of movements of the robot; for each wheel there is a servomotor, which enables control of the direction of the same; ultrasonic sensors are placed in front of the robot (three sensors) and one in the back, allowing the robot to be autonomous locomotion; infrared sensors one at each wheel support structure for interpreting gaps (holes) on the ground.

The Technology

The robot Rover incorporates in its architecture, for the interpretation of the surrounding environment: humidity and temperature sensors; compass for geographical orientation; real time clock so that there is a clear indication of dd-mm-yyyy hh: mm: ss of data collection and the surrounding environment camera for viewing in real time.

Additional Details

As it is a robot that must be "self-sustaining", are included internal sensors to ensure resource management. Thus, each wheel includes inductive sensors to monitor the speed and distance traveled, sensor to monitor the consumption and available energy level. Communication with the outside is provided through wireless networks: Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
