What’s keeping you busy these days?
A mix of IEEE volunteering and my own professional growth. I am actively involved in several IEEE initiatives, including IEEE Power & Energy Day activities, the IEEE Smart Cities Communications Ad Hoc Committee, and the IEEE Region 10 Educational Activities Committee. Working with diverse teams, supporting different programs and contributing to community-focused projects keeps me engaged and motivated.
What advice would you give to young technologists on how to get the most of the IEEE membership experience?
IEEE is much more than a place to apply for scholarships, awards or positions. It is a community that helps you grow as a person and as a technologist. When you join IEEE, try to explore as many areas as you can by attending events, talking to seniors and mentors, joining teams, and learning from people across different backgrounds. These connections often lead to new ideas, collaborations and long-term friendships.
Another important part of IEEE is giving back. Whether you volunteer at your student branch, support community activities, contribute to humanitarian projects, or help other students, you become part of something larger. IEEE believes in advancing technology for the benefit of humanity, and when you contribute to that mission, you grow both personally and professionally.
