It is important not to confuse customers with too many choices and options to maintain the software. The process must be simple and intuitive. The expectation with autonomous vehicles is that software updates must take care of itself in all aspects. Autonomous automakers can adapt mechanisms used in the aerospace industry for monitoring airplane engines or something similar to that. Systems should also be set for auto-updated patches at defined time slots.
