What are lithium or lithium-ion batteries?

Batteries generate electricity with chemical reactions. This is true for the AA and AAA batteries that we have been using for a long time. Lithium is an element that is appealing as a battery component because it can provide more energy for the same volume. Almost all lithium batteries are lithium-ion batteries because they can be used to recharge the batteries once they are drained.
