The Purpose

Microstrip patch antennas have been widely used in a various useful applications because of their low weight and low profile, conformability, easy and cheap realization. In project report we made an attempt to invent microstrip patch antenna for Wi-Fi applications. Wi-Fi also known as WLAN and it has become popular in all computers, mobile phones, and other gadgets. HFSS are used in our project for the simulation and design calculation of microstrip patch antennas. The return loss, radiation pattern and 3D gain are evaluated in our project. Advantages: low weight, low cost, low profile and conformal. They can be easily fabricable and can integrate with other microstrip elements in monolithic applications. HFSS v13. RT/Duriod 5870

The Technology

In this Report, we have investigated the dimensions of Linearly Polarized Edge Fed Rectangular patch antenna and Inset Fed Rectangular patch antenna on Rogers RT/Duroid 5870(tm) substrate for WLAN/Wi-Fi applications at a frequency of 2.4835 GHz. In our project, a comparative study between two different Feeding techniques for a Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna is done. The microstrip edge feeding and inset feeding are compared on the basis of the Radiation Pattern, VSWR, 3d-gain, 2d-gain, Directivity, Realized gain and S-parameter. The simulation of the Microstrip Patch Antenna for the two feeding techniques is performed on Hfss Software. The comparison of feeding techniques shows that the Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna with the Inset Feed has the
