IMPLEMENTATION OF PRECISION AGRICULTURE THROUGH IOT USING RASPBERRY PI

To implement IOT to carry out precise agriculture by monitoring the various physical parameters with better irrigation and automatic nutrition supplement system with live monitoring and sustainable energy supply.

 

The Purpose

In the world of rapid technological advancement the role of IOT has become the most prominent and significant. various physical parameters such as humidity, temperature, soil moisture content, pH, air quality in the agricultural field through Raspberry Pi, The Raspberry Pi is used to receive the data from the sensors and send an instantaneous email of the obtained data is sent to the user by SMTP Taking a step further, keeping in mind the usage of mobile phones we have designed an API through thinkspeak thus enabling the user to be intimated on the measured data regularly in a graphical plot. An automated irrigation and nutrient supplement system is designed to water and nourish the field when the sufficient conditions for the proper growth of the crops are not met Moreover with a safety aspect a live feed of the agricultural is sent to the user through an installed camera monitoring the field regularly. This project foresees the prospects in which it can be directly used in the field of agriculture and irrigation systems to monitor the necessary conditions for proper growth of crops and to irrigate the field when the ideal conditions are not satisfied using IOT system. This will greatly help the farmers to maintain and get good yield as a result of proper water management system.

The Technology

we have used arduino and raspberry pi as a main control head labview simulation for automatic irrigation and nutrient supplement system SMTP and API usage to upload and access the data Webcamera integrated with motion based technology which takes five snaps when motion is detected due to change in pixel rate live field monitoring through web server
