Q: What inspired you to become an engineer? Were you always interested in technology? If so, why? If not, when did you become interested and why?

A: I have always been fascinated by computers and having discovered Star Trek and video games in middle school, I saw science and engineering as almost magical avenues to understanding the world and making it better. Today, despite a relatively deeper understanding of these things, I still see science and engineering as magical. Nothing makes my day better than trying out an elegant tool or system (or program) that just “works” exactly as it’s supposed to. There are still days when I analyze data from an experiment and get goosebumps from the findings.
