How has IEEE helped you in your career journey?

IEEE has been a cornerstone of my professional and personal growth. It has given me far more than access to technical content and has provided a global platform to lead, collaborate and innovate. Through IEEE, I’ve been able to connect with leading experts, participate in cutting-edge conferences and contribute to impactful humanitarian and educational initiatives. IEEE has also been instrumental in developing my global perspective. Working with volunteers and professionals across regions has deepened my understanding of technology’s role in addressing societal challenges. Most importantly, IEEE has helped me transform passion into purpose, using technology not just to advance careers but to uplift communities.

What’s the hottest technology in the next 10 years?

Over the next decade, the hottest and most transformative technology will be the convergence of artificial intelligence, edge computing and sustainable systems, what I’d call “intelligent and responsible tech.” AI will not only power data-driven decisions but will become deeply embedded in real-world applications across healthcare, agriculture, climate monitoring, education and humanitarian systems. What excites me most is the growth of AI at the edge, where intelligent systems will function autonomously in remote or resource-constrained environments bringing advanced capabilities to communities that need them most. Combined with renewable energy solutions, smart sensors and affordable IoT, this convergence will enable localized, low-power, high-impact innovations that are scalable and inclusive.
