What advice would you give to young technologists on how to get the most of the IEEE membership experience?

My advice is to explore beyond the technical content. IEEE offers many ways to grow through learning, networking and collaboration. Tools like IEEE Collabratec are especially useful for young technologists, as they make it easy to connect with peers, join discussions and meet professionals working in similar areas.

I also recommend looking into IEEE societies, because each one focuses on a specific field and offers unique resources, events and learning opportunities. Members can join one or more societies depending on their interests, which helps them deepen their knowledge and stay connected with experts in those domains.

Participating in webinars, following IEEE publications and engaging with local groups can also provide new perspectives and open doors. Staying curious and active in the community helps members get the most value from their IEEE experience.

What’s the hottest technology in the next 10 years?

I believe the next decade will be defined by the combination of AI, automation and distributed systems. AI will become part of almost every product, not only through large models but also through smaller tools that improve everyday workflows. Cloud and edge computing will continue to evolve, enabling faster, smarter and more reliable applications. Technologies that help people and businesses make better decisions with transparency and efficiency will have the strongest impact.
