How can virtual reality be used in healthcare?

Training is one application. Virtual reality can be used to provide medical students and doctors with safe experiences that are difficult to simulate with real humans or training mannequins. Virtual animated characters can inspire children to exercise or work to achieve other health-related goals. Virtual reality can be used in training to provide a trainee with a complete immersive virtual training scenario no matter where they are, for example observing or practicing with a surgical team while standing in their living room.
