HAND GESTURE TO SPEECH CONVERSION USING PIC MICROCONTROLLER

MAKERS: BHARGAV GS

People who are speech-impaired face difficulty in communicating with others who do not know the sign language. The project aims at eliminating this communication gap. This is done by using a prototype hand worn glove which converts hand gestures into speech, thus enabling speech-impaired people to effectively communicate with everyone. This would help the nine billion lives worldwide who are speech-impaired. We have used flex sensors which are variable resistance strips, to sense the sign language gestures, PIC microcontroller for computations and APR33A3, a powerful audio processor along with a loudspeaker to play the voice output corresponding to the sign language gesture.
