Q: What inspired you to become an engineer? Were you always interested in technology? If so, why? If not, when did you become interested and why?

A: My father was a physicist, so growing up I was surrounded by scientific books and instruments.

I was always fascinated by examining something new, whether it be a bug or a leaf, under the lens of a microscope and seeing how an appearance was different at the microscopic level. My interests kept growing, eventually becoming a true passion, which eventually led me to take materials science as my field of study.
