Q: What inspired you to become an engineer? Were you always interested in technology? If so, why? If not, when did you become interested and why?
A: Engineering chose me.
I’ve always been curious about how things work, how physical products are made and how they can be tweaked to work better.
Growing up, I spent a lot of time creating mechanical structures, model airplanes and connecting to the physical elements that surrounded me in rural Iowa. In that sense, I have not grown up – rather, my “toys” have just become more expensive.
