Jeewika Ranaweera
IEEE Senior Member, IEEE Electron Devices Society
Q: How is IEEE your professional home?
A: My initial experience with IEEE was when I served as an editor and participated as a member of several technical committees.
Later, I became further involved with the organization as an IEEE Senior Member who is actively involved with IEEE Future Directions, IEEE Women in Engineering and various IEEE conferences and technical forums, which have provided me with the opportunity to meet and learn from inspiring engineers and scientists.
Additionally, as an ABET program evaluator for IEEE, I get the opportunity to help guide the content, quality, and delivery of electrical and computer engineering degree programs around the world. In turn, I work to inspire girls from various parts of the world to follow their academic interests to a career in engineering – this is possible because of IEEE.
