Q: What inspired you to become an engineer? Were you always interested in technology? If so, why? If not, when did you become interested and why?
A: I was always drawn to STEM fields, but didn’t settle on engineering until high school. In my sophomore year, a local community college held a summer Engineering Academy that served as an introduction to the main three engineering disciplines: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and civil engineering. They were offering a discount for girls to encourage more girls to pursue engineering. I love a good deal, so I signed up for the program. I was immediately drawn to the electrical engineering portion of the program and decided to pursue it in university.
