SOM (Solar & mechanical )is a bike with modular battery units which works on principles of harnessing energy from solar(on to batteries) & mechanical energy(from paddle),for driving of BIKE.

The Purpose

Purpose of our project is to have a cost efficient and pollution free Bike.Our prototype will ensure a better efficiency on different aspects like the reliability & cost effectiveness. Because of our modular battery units, the bike is a new and modern prototype which can be implemented and used in metropolitan cities across the globe.We are comparing our bike with E-Bike on basis of: 1.Cost: Manufacturing feasibility of our bike is 20000INR as well E-bike is 30000INR 2. Pollution: SOM is an bike with eco-friendly. 3. Efficiency as well as speed of SOM is 80km/charge/<40km/hour & E-bike 60km/q,<25km/hr.

The Technology

Key technology used are the hybrid system of mechanical(from paddle) and renewable energy(from solar).Our project is a bike with modular battery units which can integrate both renewable energy(solar & mechanical energy from paddle)which works on the principles of harnessing energy from solar(on to batteries) & mechanical energy(from paddle) into a power required to drive our bike.Our prototype will ensure better efficiency on different aspects like reliability & cost effectiveness. Because of our modular battery units, the bike is a new & modern prototype which can be implemented and used in metropolitan cities across the globe.

Additional Details

Solar and mechanical bike prototype will be assemble as: The main part of our prototype is an hybrid system which integrate Solar panels and mechanical system which will be attached to Inbuilt gear cycle in two different modes (city mode and long drive mode) .Our prototype will incorporate mono-crystalline PV modules(60 cells ,250Watts ) ,Mechanical paddling and regenerative breaking to charge Exide battery (24V ,12Ah via charging unit to increase the overall efficiency. The output of battery is connected to BLDC (HUB Motor) through a converter for driving the bike.Drive shaft during the battery mode controlled by throttle mechanism.
